Tibet Tour
Tibet “THE ROOF OF THE WORLD” had remained a forbidden land for outsiders for most part of the last century. Lying across the Himalayan range, Tibet has traditionally been led by the spiritual rulers known as the Dalai Lamas until 1995, when the country was annexed to the autonomous region of China. Traveling in Tibet is really a good experience for life. The capital of Tibet Lhasa is about 1000 km from Kathmandu. It takes about a one hour flight and 2 hours drive to get to Lhasa. Lhasa is the biggest city in Tibet and Shigatche is the second biggest city.
Tibet is one of the extraordinary destinations where adventure lurks around every corner! Adventure on the road is never short on the beautiful Trans Himalayan drive through mountain passes, promising a panorama of cultural and scenic diversity unsurpassable anywhere. It culminates on an arid plateau, a variable treasure trove of architectural masterpieces the Buddhist monasteries of Drapung, one of the largest in the country The Jokhang a spiritual center, and the awesome places of the Dalai Lama’s Nourbulinkha (the summer palace) and the Potala Palace.
ON THIS TRIP, ONCE YOU HAVE DONE THE EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK, YOU WILL BE ACCLIMATIZED AND DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY MUCH ABOUT ALTITUDE ILLNESS IN TIBET.
